Easier Accessibility in the File Information Drawer

We’ve made it easier to access important information with updates to the File Information Drawer. You can now view related Drawings directly in the “Drawings” section of a file’s data card. Similarly, the new “BOMs” section shows all the BOMs a file is used in.

To quickly navigate to a specific Drawing or BOM, hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac) and click on the file or BOM link.

Bulk Update: Show/Hide Files in BOMs

Managing BOM files just got faster with our new bulk update feature. You can now easily hide or unhide multiple files within a BOM. Simply select multiple line items by holding Shift, right-click, and choose "Hide" or "Unhide". This change streamlines workflows for large or complex BOMs.

Add Custom Attributes to BOMs

We’ve introduced customizable attributes for your BOMs. Admins can now add metadata fields like nested select options, attachments, or text fields directly to BOMs. These fields capture key information specific to your BOM. Admins can add these attributes within Account Settings under "BOM Attributes." Once added users can manage these attributes via the BOM’s settings page.

Freeze Columns for Better Visibility

To improve visibility and collaboration, you can now freeze specific columns for each BOM view. Frozen columns stay locked in place, making it easier to focus on the most important details. Any changes to frozen columns will reflect for all users within the same BOM view. Users can set this up within the BOM settings menu under their preferred view.

Attachments & Nested Select Fields

We’ve expanded BOM functionality to support attachments and nested select fields. These can now be added to your BOM view, allowing users to manage these fields directly within their BOM data.

BOM Versions & Duplication

Finally, we’ve enhanced versioning and duplication features for BOMs. Add commit messages when creating BOM versions to keep your team aligned on changes. Approval requests are now accessible directly from the BOM versions dropdown, making workflows smoother. Additionally, you can duplicate an existing BOM by selecting the "Duplicate an Existing BOM" option when creating a new one.
