Project Views allow users to quickly access specific files or folders within a project, improving navigation and workflow efficiency. They are especially useful for frequently accessed filters, enabling users to organize and view files in a structured or simplified format.
The views created are available to anyone who has access to the project.
Creating Project Views
To create a new Project View:
Navigate to Project Settings from the left menu.
Select the "Views" tab.
Click "+ Add View" to create a new view.
Enter a view name, type, and root directory:
View Name: Name of the view you can select from the vault
View Type: Choose between a Hierarchical View (maintains folder structure) or a Flat View (displays all files without folders).
Hierarchical View
Keep your project organized with structured folders and sub folders, just like your engineering workflow
Flat View
Quickly access all files in a single, streamlined list-no folders, no clutter
Root Directory: Select a specific folder to start the view from if you frequently work in a subfolder.
You can add filters to your views (look at section below for explanation)
You can set default sort column and its respective sort direction
If you select auto save, that means when you change the column and/or sort direction in the view, the column choice and sort direction will be saved
If you enable "Auto Save Columns Width", and you adjust the width of a particular column in a view, it will then be saved in the view
If you enable "Custom Columns Order", you can select the order of the columns in the vault
If you enable "Auto Save Columns Order", you will then be able switch the order of the columns in a view and that order will be saved
Click "Save" to finalize the view.
Once created, Project Views are accessible from both the browser and desktop app.
