Creating an Engineering Change Order

Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in Bild help you manage and document design changes in a structured and traceable way. This guide will walk you through creating a new ECO in just a few steps.


1. Open the Change Order Tool

In the left menu dock, click on the “ECOs & Revs” icon to open the Change Order dashboard.


2. Click “+ New”

Click the “+ New” button in the top-right corner to start a new ECO.

3. Select Files for Your ECO

You will be prompted to select the file(s) you want to include in this ECO.

👉 Note: Bild will prompt you to add any related child files (e.g., referenced parts or subassemblies) on the next screen


4. Enter ECO Details

Provide the following information for your new ECO:

  • ECO Title → Give your ECO a clear, descriptive name

  • ECO Description → Briefly explain what changes are being made and why

Optional:

  • Click “Add Child Files” if you want to include any referenced child files in the ECO.


5. Create the ECO

Once all required information is filled in, click “Create” to finalize the ECO.

👉 Note:

  • A file can only be part of one active ECO at a time

  • You can modify the ECO later by adding or removing files as needed before final approval
