Updated today

At Bild, we’re always building with one goal in mind: helping you build hardware faster. Better. Together. This month, we’re excited to share some powerful new features and improvements that make collaborating and executing on your projects even smoother.

Let’s dive in!

You can now seamlessly sync data between Bild and Propel PLM. This eliminates duplicate data entry, reduces errors, and ensures your product lifecycle information is always up to date across both platforms. Integrate with Propel through your account settings in Bild.

You can now customize which universal file formats (e.g. STEP, STL, JT) are automatically generated when a file is released, shared with a supplier, or has a public link. Navigate to your account settings in the top right of Bild and then select Universal Files to set this up.

You can now quickly toggle between different STEP file versions to review design iterations and choose the right release. Navigate to your user settings and then Universal Files to select what file type you need, ensuring you are always working with the correct version.

You can now select new value types in the Custom Metadata settings. Date, Date Range and User List are now available options, these fields improve searchability, traceability, and reporting, giving your team clearer insights into project status and ownership.

Rendering of Creo Drawings

You can now instantly render Creo drawings directly in Bild for fast previews. This means quicker design reviews, smoother collaboration with non-CAD users, and less time waiting on file conversions.

📌 Additional Updates

  • Button to Send Logs in Desktop Settings - simplify troubleshooting with one-click log sharing.

  • Auto Upload Logs on Hard Refresh - automatically capture logs during refreshes.

  • Required For Release Across All Configs - ensure release consistency with configurable requirements.

  • Enable Write to File for ECO and Revision Status - improved documentation and traceability.

  • Create Local Folder directly from the Desktop App - organize your work with local folder creation directly in Bild.

  • Separation of User Access/Permissions - fine-tune access between project files, supplier files, and released files.

  • BOM Sort - improved bill of materials organization for easier navigation.

  • Checked-out files now remain editable as expected, ensuring smoother workflows without unnecessary read-only restrictions.

  • Update fetching has been improved so local files are cleaned up correctly, preventing mismatches.

  • Creo file handling has been refined so multiple versions (local + new) are grouped intelligently, reducing clutter.

  • BOM mapping is now more stable during processing, minimizing workflow interruptions.

  • Version status alignment has been adjusted so releasing a file with write-to-file enabled no longer reverts it to Modified.

  • Creo file checkout now consistently maps to the correct version locally, improving accuracy.

  • File selection in check-in has been improved so the “Modified Files” tab reflects only the right files, reducing confusion.

  • File stability improvements prevent files from becoming randomly unselected.

  • File downloads now load reliably, even when opening a file with an item as a child, avoiding stuck screens.

  • Pending Actions dialog now processes smoothly when moving open files, preventing endless loading.

  • Filters now stay in place after checkout, maintaining user preferences.

  • Project view filters persist properly during creation, so your customizations are retained.

  • Project view settings now update reactively for a more responsive experience.

  • User metadata lists display in a consistent, logical order, improving usability.

💡 Pro Tip

💡 Did you know you can combine the Propel Integration with Auto Generation of Universal Files to keep your PLM data and shared files in sync automatically? It’s a simple way to streamline your release process.

Thanks for being part of the Bild community. We can’t wait to see how these updates help your team accelerate development. As always, we’d love your feedback!
