Personal Account Settings

Personal Account Settings allow each individual user to manage their profile information, notification preferences, desktop configuration, and workspace behavior.

Updated today

Note: All settings described below are configured per user and do not impact other users in the account.

To access your Personal Account Settings:

  1. Click your profile icon in the top right corner of Bild.

  2. Select Account Settings.

  3. Use the left-hand navigation menu to access each section.

Profile

The Profile section displays and manages basic account information.

What You Can View

  • The email address associated with your account

The email address cannot be edited. If you need to change your email address, you must delete the account associated with the old email and create a new account using the new email address.

What You Can Edit

  • Name associated with your account

  • Password (via Change Password option)

Notifications

The Notifications section allows you to control how you receive alerts from Bild.

You can enable or disable:

  • Email notifications

  • In-app notifications

This allows you to tailor how frequently and through which channels you receive updates.

Important:
Each individual workspace also has its own notification settings. These must be configured separately at the workspace level.

Preferences

The Preferences section includes three user-level configuration options:

1. File and Folder Segregation

When enabled:

  • Folders will display at the top

  • Files will display below folders

This helps organize workspace views for easier navigation.

2. Appearance (Theme Mode)

The Appearance setting allows you to select your theme mode for the application.

Available options:

  • Light Mode

  • Dark Mode

  • System Mode

What is System Mode?

System Mode applies to the web application and will follow your system-level theme settings.

If your device or desktop app is set to dark mode, Bild will automatically display in dark mode. If your system is set to light mode, Bild will follow that setting.

This allows for a consistent visual experience across applications.

Desktop Settings

The Desktop Settings section applies specifically to users of the Bild Desktop App.

App Version

Displays the current version of your Desktop App.

It is recommended to ensure you are always on the latest version for:

  • Performance improvements

  • Bug fixes

  • Feature updates

Local Folder Path

Displays the folder on your computer that is synced with Bild.

If you need to change your local working directory:

  1. Click Update

  2. Select the new folder path

  3. Confirm the change

Enable Download Non-Local Files Button (Desktop App)

When enabled:

  • A Download Non-Local Files button becomes available in the Desktop App.

  • Clicking this button downloads all files in the workspace to your selected working directory.

This is useful when you need a complete local copy of workspace content.

Auto Create All Folders Locally (Desktop App)

When enabled:

  • All workspace folders will automatically be created in your local working directory.

  • This applies only to Desktop App users.

This ensures your local folder structure mirrors the workspace folder structure.

Send Logs

This option allows you to send diagnostic logs to the engineering team.

You may be asked to send logs when troubleshooting:

  • Sync issues

  • Performance concerns

  • Unexpected behavior

Hard Refresh

Hard Refresh will:

  • Resync your Bild workspace with your local folder

  • Revalidate local and cloud file consistency

This option is typically used during troubleshooting and may be requested by the engineering team.
