Delta Design Compare
Our AI design comparison tool is officially out of Beta and available to all customers.
Compare the geometry between two versions of a CAD model and receive a descriptive summary and 3D rendering of what changed. Delta will detect features added or removed, faces moves, holes resized, and more.
Try it on our website or contact us for more information.
New Approval Features
Conditional Approval Templates
Populate your approval stages dependent on file metadata or change category fields. For example, users may want to populate Stage 1 with a design checker when a Document Type field is specified as a Drawing. Whereas, a Product Spec may begin with the program manager.
From your Approval Templates setting, click +New to begin a new template or click on an existing one. Within a stage, select + Add conditional reviewers and choose the reviewers that should populate for different metadata/change category field values.
Switch Pending Approvers
Approval creators and admins are now able to switch out pending approvers without having to recreate an approval.
New Metadata Settings
Sharing Restrictions
In Metadata Settings, administrators can add specific values for a field beneath Sharing Restrictions. There will not be an option to share files with suppliers when their metadata aligns with the values that were entered. Additionally, public links cannot be created.
For example, sharing may be permitted for files with a Sensitivity metadata field set to Public, but restricted when it is set to Proprietary or Confidential. Click the pencil icon that appears when hovering over a metadata field to make these selections.
Other - Value Type and Settings
Multi-Select Value Type
An option for a multi-select value type is available when creating new or editing existing metadata fields. This option allows users to select multiple values from a dropdown. They will appear in the metadata as a comma-separated list.
Description
Admins can now add a Description to new or existing metadata fields to help clarify their meaning. It will be visible by hovering over the information icon beside the field in the data card.
Clear on Release
Admins can now choose if any metadata field (for example, Design Owner or Target Release Date) should be set to a blank value when a file is released.
This is enabled by the Clear on Release toggle within a field's setting (accessed by clicking the pencil icon that appears when hovering over it).
The previous values will always be available in the version history when viewing an older version in the 3D Viewer and clicking Show File Info.
New File Settings
For those with access, navigate to File Settings in PDM settings to manage these new options.
Auto-update BOMs
When an EBOM identifies metadata changes from the vault, instead of manually syncing as shown below, this setting can be enabled to automatically update cells with these changes on each check-in.
This option dictates the default behavior but can be overrode from the BOM settings.
Allow Non-Admins to Unlock Any File
Previously, unlocking permissions were reserved for only admins or the individual user that locked a file. Enabling this setting expands it to any user with the Lock/Unlock files permission. This is useful for teams that would like to employ Lock on Release but find the unlocking permissions too restrictive.
This option dictates the default behavior but can be overrode from the General tab in workspace settings.
Allow Marking Obsolete on Release
When enabled, users with the Mark Obsolete permission can choose to mark individual files obsolete as part of releasing them. This is useful for teams that would like to formalize their process for obsoleting designs.
Allow Design Library Files in ECOs
Enable this setting to allow files in the Design Library to be added to a workspace change order and eliminate the need to create and release multiple ECOs. Select files from the workspace or Design Library tab.
When an assembly from the workspace is added, selecting the Add children files dialog will include any children that exist in the Design Library alongside those in the current workspace.
Other Noteworthy Features
1. Users can manually link drawings from the View Drawing Files dialog in a CAD file's data card (e.g. Creo or Inventor drawings that do not share a file name with their associated CAD).
2. Customize the Workspace Files view for suppliers from the new Table Columns tab in Supplier settings.
3. For PLM users, require that reviewers can only be added to a change order if they have PDM workspace access to every affected design file. Employ this security measure by enabling Require Design File Access for Approvers in the General PLM settings.
4. PLM users can now incorporate item category fields into a dynamic part number structure. For example, project number or product line.

Ability to export displayed configuration only in ECO export
Release & Close from the right-click menu now works with more than 500 files at once
Model Browser in 3D Viewer has a scroll bar for improved visibility
Approval sign-offs are preserved when a user is removed from the company
NetSuite Integration
Progress bar indicating linking/syncing status
Bild BOM syncs to NetSuite in the same order
Auto-sync skips auto-generation of universal files when none are pushed for reduced latency
