Creating a Change Order

1. From the Changes tab, click + New.

2. Choose the Change Category and assign it a name. Selecting from the Projects dropdown will improve clarity and organization in the complete list of changes.

3. Complete the category-specific fields. These may or may not be required.

4. Select Create Change.


Adding Affected Items

Users can add affected items either directly from the change order or when viewing the item.

Bild will monitor the changes made from the previous revision and ensure they are compatible with the selected change order. Users will receive a notification if attempting to add items with prohibited modifications.

Adding from Change Order

1. From the Affected Items tab of the change order, click Add Item.

2. Search by name, part number, or filter by project to find the item(s) that should be added. For items with a BOM, select the Add children files checkbox to include them in the change order. Click Next.

3. Add any children items if needed and click Next again.

4. Edit or choose the relevant lifecycle phase for each item. You will also the current and new revision values. Click Add.

5. The selected items will appear in the Affected Items tab.

Refer back to the Affected Items tab to confirm the previous and new lifecycle phases/revision numbers.

Adding from Item

1. From an item, click Add to Change.

2. Search by name, change order number, or filter by project to find the change the item should be added to. For items with a BOM, select the Add children files checkbox to include them in the change order. Click Next.

3. Add any children items if needed and click Next again.

4. Edit or choose the relevant lifecycle phase for each item. You will also the current and new revision values. Click Add.

5. Click View Change in the top right corner and proceed to the Affected Items tab to see them.

Ensuring Compatible Item Changes

Users will receive an error when attempting to add affected items that have undergone modifications since the item was first created or since the last release that are incompatible with settings configured in Managing Change Categories and Fields.

Changes to the Owners item field and Suppliers tab are restricted for items being added to a Drawing Change Order (DCO) in the example above.

Users will have the choice to Skip these items or Revert and Add, which will undo the incompatible modifications and add them to Affected Items.

Once an item has been added to a change order, any fields or information that are not allowed to be edited will be locked.


Removing Affected Items

From the Affected Items tab, choose which ones you would like to delete and click Remove.
