Creating an Approval
1. Navigate to the Approvers tab of the change order you would like approve and release.
2. Select from the Approval Template dropdown if applicable. These will prepopulate the stages, approvers, and settings. (See Creating Approval Templates for more information)
3. Make any edits or you may also choose to construct the approval manually.
Select a Due Date
Enable Release on Approve to automatically progress the change order status from Approved to Released following the approval process
Add stage(s) with custom names or select from the dropdown of presets
Add individual reviewers or groups to the stage(s)
Supplier groups can be added as reviewers
Approvers in the same stage can review and make their dispositions simultaneously. If there is more than one stage, they will happen sequentially.
4. Click Save.
Submitting for Review and Releasing
1. When ready to approval and release a change order, click Submit for Review.
2. Choose whether to fetch the latest from PDM. Selecting Fetch & Submit will update all of the affected items with the latest BOM, thumbnail, and metadata synced from PDM.
Once the approval is started, the change order in PLM and the design files in PDM will be locked for changes. The Revision Status in PDM will be ECO In Review or whichever type of change order was initiated.
3. Click the clipboard icon in the top right to view all active PLM approvals. Show the list for All Users or filter by specific reviewers.
4. Select an approval and go to the Approvers tab to see the complete structure and active stage.
5. If you are part of the current stage, you will see the options for making your disposition in the top right corner.
Approve
Reject
Cancel and Draft if you are an admin or an editor who submitted the approval and want to cancel the approval but leave the change order in a draft state
Cancel and Close if you are an admin or an editor who create the change order and want to cancel any approvals and completely close the change order
If the Release when Approved checkbox was unselected, there will be an extra step for an admin or the editor who submitted the approval to Release the change order.
You will see the Revision Number for the design files in PDM increment based on the Lifecycle Phase and the Revision Status change to Released.
