Adding Files via the Bild Web Browser

  1. To add files to a project, first navigate to the project you'd like to add files into

  2. There are two ways to add files to your project:

    1. Drag and drop files from your local computer into the web app within your project files table

    2. Select the +New button and add files from your local computer

  3. Select Import once you've selected the files

  4. Once these files have been uploaded select Done

  5. You will then see these files start processing in the background, once they've finished processing you'll be able to double-click on the file to view it in the web viewer

No individual file uploaded can be 5gb or greater, if you need to upload a file of this size please reach out to [email protected]


Downloading Files via the Web App

  1. Navigate to the files you'd like to download within a project

  2. Select the checkboxes of the files you'd like to download

  3. Click on the More Actions drop-down menu on the upper right

  4. Select the Download Files button

  5. You will get a confirmation message and an email with a download link once these files are ready


Deleting Files via the Web App

  1. Navigate to the files you'd like to delete within a project

  2. Select the checkboxes of the files you'd like to delete

  3. Click on the More Actions drop-down menu on the upper right

  4. Select the Delete Files button

  5. Confirm the files you'd like to delete and select the Delete button

Adding Files via the Desktop App

  1. Drop the new files into the project within your project folder in your Bild local repository

  2. Open the Bild desktop app and navigate to the project where you added the files, any new files added will contain a New File tag

  3. Click on the Push New Files button in the upper right corner

  4. Confirm the files you'd like to upload and select Upload

  5. This will begin the uploading process, once done you'll be able to access these files in the cloud

Downloading files via the Desktop App

  1. Navigate to the files you'd like to download within a project

  2. Select the checkboxes of the files

  3. Click on the More Actions drop-down and click Download

  4. This will download the file to your local repository in the same directory structure as is in your project

πŸ’‘ You can double-click on any file to automatically download and open it in its native application


Locking Files

Locking a file prevents other users from making changes, while still allowing them to view the file and its information. Once a file is locked, only the user who locked it or an Admin can unlock it.

Steps to Lock a File

  1. Navigate to the file within the project

  2. Right-click on the file(s)

  3. Select Lock File

Reverting Files to Previous Versions

Reverting files can be useful to undo changes and go back to a previous file version.

Steps to Revert a File

  1. Navigate to the file within the web browser

  2. Right-click on the file and select Show File Info

  3. Select the Activity tab within the data card

  4. Navigate to the version you'd like to revert to

  5. Select the Revert option within the version block

  6. (Optional) Add your commit message

  7. Select Submit
