Editing BOM Data

Bild allows you to efficiently manage your file data directly within your BOM. To start editing your BOM, you’ll need to enter Edit Mode:

  1. Navigate to and open the BOM you wish to edit.

  2. Click the Edit button.

  3. Select any cell within the BOM to make changes.

  4. Update the metadata as needed.

  5. When finished, click Exit Edit Mode to save your changes.

Syncing BOMs

Keeping your Bill of Materials (BOM) synchronized with the vault is crucial for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your project management. Understanding the different status indicators—such as highlighted values for changes, missing associations, and multiple associations—allows you to quickly identify discrepancies and take appropriate actions.

Fetch Diff

If your BOM contains any assemblies, the Fetch Diff button will display the differences between the parent-child relationships in the BOM and those in the vault. You can review these discrepancies and select which changes you would like to apply to your BOM. Once you’ve made your selections, click Apply Changes to update your BOM accordingly.

Resyncing Values (Orange Highlight)

When data in your BOM is tagged in orange or the orange Resync button appears, it indicates that the values for the highlighted fields have been updated in the vault but are not yet reflected in your BOM.

To view all the fields that require syncing, click the Resync button. This will allow you to compare the current vault values with the BOM values, highlighting the discrepancies.

Follow these steps to sync your BOM with the latest data from the vault:

  1. Navigate to and open the BOM.

  2. Select the Edit button.

  3. To sync the data, choose one of the following options:

    • Mass Sync: Click the Resync button to apply all changes from the vault to the BOM.

    • Single Sync: Right-click an orange cell and select Resync to apply a specific change.

  4. Once complete, click Exit Edit Mode.

Syncing to Vault (Purple Highlight)

When data in your BOM is tagged in purple or the purple Sync to Vault button appears, it means the highlighted fields contain newer values in the BOM that are not yet reflected in the vault.

To view all the fields that need to be synced to the vault, click the Sync to Vault button. This allows you to compare the current BOM values with the vault values, identifying the fields that need syncing.

Follow these steps to sync your BOM data to the vault:

  1. Navigate to and open the BOM.

  2. Select the Edit button.

  3. Choose one of the following options to sync data:

    • Mass Sync: Click the Sync to Vault button to apply all changes from the BOM to the vault.

    • Single Sync: Right-click a purple cell and select Sync to Vault to apply a specific change.

  4. Once complete, click Exit Edit Mode.

No Association (Blue Highlight)

Line items highlighted in blue indicate that Bild cannot find the associated file within your vault. This could be due to several reasons:

  • Missing Part Number: If the BOM was imported and lacks a part number, you can manually reference the correct file by right-clicking the line item, selecting Pair, and choosing the file to sync.

  • File Not in Vault: If the file doesn’t exist in your vault, resolve this by uploading the part and syncing the BOM.

  • BOM Processing Issue: If neither of the above reasons apply, the issue could be due to a failure in BOM processing. In that case, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

Multiple Associations (Red Highlight)

Line items highlighted in red indicate that multiple items have been found in the vault, requiring your attention to resolve the association.

  • Duplicate Part Numbers: This can occur when multiple files in the vault share the same part number. To resolve this, right-click the line item, select Pair, and choose the correct file to reference.
