Design Library Custom Roles & Settings

The Design Library now features dedicated settings similar to projects. You can manage notifications, integrations, and user access specific to the Design Library. Additionally, you can assign custom roles, either existing or new, to users directly through the Design Library settings or the User Management section. These updates give you greater control and flexibility when managing your Design Library.

Customization Options for the Release Process

To help you better structure your release workflows, we’ve introduced two new customization options:

  • Lock on Release: which automatically locks files after release, preventing any unintended edits, checkouts, or changes

  • Require Approval Before Release: Ensures that files must have the "Approved" status before they can move to the Released state.

Admins can enable both settings in the "File Settings" section of the account settings.

Obsolete Status for Files

We’ve added a new Obsolete status to help you manage files that are no longer in use. You can mark a file as obsolete by right-clicking and selecting "Make Obsolete." Obsolete files cannot be edited but can be reactivated at any time by choosing "Make Active." Each time a file’s status changes, a version block is created to maintain a clear history. This update ensures your team always has visibility into which files are in use and which are no longer relevant.

Release Commit Messages

To help teams stay aligned, users can now add commit messages when releasing files. This allows you to document important notes and changes for better historical tracking and team visibility. Commit messages are a valuable way to keep everyone on the same page and maintain clear release documentation.
